Weird and irregular spell, something wrong?

My period is sometimes very unpredictable. About a year or two ago I'd hold my period one, two, even three months apart, but within days gone by year and a half I've been getting it more frequently. I've given up trying to "calculate" the exact year, because its never exact. I'm not on birth control, but I usually get my period atleast inside 2 weeks of when it should come. Now I am somewhat concerned. My bf and I had unprotected sex, I know the consequences of this. The last time I have my period the first week of June. Now, almost two months later, for in the order of a week I've been getting back ache, a little more tiredness, and bloating. Usually this only happen within 3 days of getting my period but its be happening for about a week. Today I notice that I started to bleed a little but its dark red and gooey. I wrote this stale as my period, but its so odd that its be so late and my symptoms are coming weirdly early for me. Should I purloin a pregnancy test? Should I wait it out to see if my length lasts about a week resembling normal? I really want to know what is what, but I don't want to be paranoid. My boyfriend and I are both adults now and can knob this responibility and etc. Any answers or advice will be greatly!! Appreciated,
