your not fully protected until you have a full common cycle. this is when you have no breakthrough bleeds and a normal extent at the end of the pack. this can take 1-3 months to develop.
Your doctor will recommend the best type for your body. And no, they dont make you gain weight for the most segment thats an OLD rumor. Also you should look into the depo shot instead.
