Recovery fron Hysterectomy?
She's 72 so we're a bit concerned around this. She's being kept in hospital and they're doing test to check she doesn't have an infection. The Staff nurse said that it could be a reaction to adjectives the drugs she is being given (antbiotics, anti inflammatories, painkillers etc).
Has anyone else experienced these symptoms after hysterectomy?
Answers: 72 and just presently having a hysterectomy??
wow...
well i have a hysterectomy last july. all of the things she have been experiencing is actually run of the mill.
hysterectomies are more than just "being fixed" it is foremost abdominal surgery.
the doctors had to take out her intestines and move other organs around to bring to her uterus. her body is just reacting to the ordeal it have just been thru.
if she is still inkling this horrible in 2 or 3 days. take her spinal column to the doc. but I think shes fine..i experienced the same atmosphere. and everything was fine after a few days
It's highly unlikely that your mum is taking a antipathy to the drugs after all this time. It is more likely that she have a hospital acquired infection D&V. Ask the staff what she is being tested for and why, if you don't ask they won't transmit you. Ask if she should be in a single room and barrier nursed? Antibiotics do regularly give people diarrhoea but not next to the sickness as well. hope this helps and your mum make a complete recovery
How copious woman out here want they could never have a length EVER!?
It might simply be the shock of what is major surgery or she may enjoy an infection. The D&V would suggest an infection, keep pestering for the results of those tests don't agree to them fob you of with 'it's the weekend'. Your mum really needs you to disagree her corner for her. Good luck and I hope she is soon on the road to recovery xxHow do you preserve track of period?
Best place for her. Sounds as if she have got a mild infection with the sickness and diarrhoea. The delicateness and lethargy sounds like a antipathy to the surgery, it is major surgery, and mum is 72, it will take it out of her. I feel weak and weary for a fitting week after op, and I was only 42. Talk to the Doctor when you dance to see her.Hope she feels better soon.
I own an ingrown pubic fleece?
The staff are right, it's not only a hypersensitivity from drugs but the operation itself. The body reacts in different ways but it sure react. Just a small op. can give the same symptoms. If she is wobbly and slow then make sure she doesn't try to too much - the operation be on Monday!! that's just a few days ago - no wonder she is wobbly and weak. Give it time, come on, she is 72!It can hold up to 8-12 months to get over this. you just obligation to look after your mum.
A hysterectomy is a major operation (I'm assuming she had it done abdominally and not vaginally?) and take some getting over even for a younger person.
It is quite adjectives to get sickness and diarrhoea with antibiotics and sickness is adjectives with strong painkillers. Coupled with the broad anaesthetic she has had, and the trauma to her body, it is little wonder she is notion rough, poor soul.
It may well be that she has some post-op infection, again it is not that extraordinary. If that is the root of the problem, once she has appropriate treatment she should soon surface much better. Try not to worry too much at this stage but just be paid sure you get all the information you inevitability from the doctors and nurses treating her. Take care x
For girls solely: how ripened be you when you have pubic fuzz? What color is it and do you shave it?
A hysterectomy is a very serious surgery--it's approaching having a transplant without getting the foreign organ--the body has to adjust to the missing organ, rebuild brand new blood vessels, heal the thousands of stitches and rest from the organs being handled during surgery. This is right up in attendance with open heart and brain surgery even though it is safer, the salvage is actually 6 months with the anesthesia taking a year to grasp out of the body. Her symptoms sound normal and since she's surrounded by the hospital, let them keep her within until she feels well anough to waddle and take care of her direct needs with a touch help (the stomach muscles have to heal--we use them for everything--try to stand up minus using your stomach!
I had non-invasive heart surgery a year ago and a hysterectomy 2 months ago. The hysterectomy has be the most difficult to deal with and I am 25 years younger than your mum. I be on a morphine pump (pretty standard) for 2 days after, this is not a small thing having this surgery.
Please walk to http://www.hystersisters.com/ which was set up years ago as a forum and information resource for questions give or take a few hysterectomies. I went there earlier the surgery (ob/gyns and suregeons now recommend this site, it is so useful) and was well able to research what to do before the surgery and what to expect after. They even hold timed emails go out so you know what to expect that week.
Asking your question near will get you answers to any question you might hold or someone may have already asked a similar question and you find it in a minute. The next few months will be difficult for your mom both physically and emotionally. While it may seem resembling having a hysterectomy so late within life means it shouldn't scrounging that much to her, there are still feelings of loss when you lose a sector of your body and the adjustments in hormonal level can be frustrating for us and those around us.
You will probably find help on their forums for your own questions as okay as those for your mum.
One woman on our weekly thread is from England and talks of her mum, so you should find comfort there.
