Is it possible for my laparoscopy to have caused a hernia? I have two laps about 3 years ago. About a year after have my last one, I noticed a small lump surrounded by my belly button (it was not the actual scar). I thought maybe it be just extra fat because I have gained a little bit of bulk. It stayed the same for a few years and now it seem to be getting worse. What concerns me now is that when I poke it with my finger, it will in actual fact disapear back into where ever it come from. Then if I push my belly out it will poke back out. This is really freaky. Has anyone had anything similar to this happen or know of anyone?

I had a Laparoscopy done something like 2 1/2 years ago and had the same thing develop when I went and had it checked out the Dr. said it be a hernia it wasn't life threatening but if I wanted to hold it removed in the future I could I believe it's a personal choice I am not sure I haven't have anything done myself yet.
We changed insurance Co. It hasn't bothered me but I would go receive checked get all the fact's from your Dr. to see your option. Good luck to you.

It's always possible. A lap make a hole in your abdominal wall. But it's not uncommon to only happen spontaneously. The reason is not as interesting as the issue of whether you enjoy a hernia or not. You need to get it checked out and fixed if it is a hernia. Otherwise, you risk have a strangulated hernia, which is both very painful and pretty dangerous.

it is possible for a Lap to cause a Hernia. It could also be defacement tissue build up. You should get it seen if it is raw or getting bigger.
