I've been on the depo shot for a year, and going to be going off of it. And, haven't have a real period for a year, so I be kind of wondering what to expect after I don't get the depo shot anymore? Anyone enjoy any bad experience or advice? If possibly I should switch to some other form of birth control, like the pills? I didn't really like the pills they other made me feel nauseated. Thanks!

Well once you get rotten it, your hormones are going to go crazy because they are used to you being on the birth control. So expect to hold your period every other day on and rotten for at least a month. It's normal because that's how your body will alter once you've stopped getting it.

I didn't have any bad reaction to that & I don't do well on the pill either.

I be on depo for 3 years & it shut my system down, no periods & I literally dried up.
When I got stale it I went thru a sort of puberty again, I know it sounds weird but it be far from funny.
I started having my periods again after I be off depo for 6 months.

What I did was bring on Kariva (pill) around the time I was due for my last (never gotten) depo provera shot. I get my periods back within three months.

Without the pill, it can take up to or over a year to get your period back.
