I can't walk on the pill due to my blood, so what forms of birth control can I use?

I have some sort of blood problem. Its too thick and clots, thus the doc said it's not safe to go on the pill. What other forms of birth control (aside from a condom) can I use?

Answers:    You are to be sure more limited to what you can use to prevent pregnancy, but luckily you still have option. Condoms, of course, are easy to use and come within latex, polyeurathane and lambskin (condoms come in a female form, as in good health!). Spermicides (nonoxynol 9) are another option, which kill the sperm on contact. Spermicides can also be combined beside condoms for extra protection, and some condoms even come with a spermicide. Spermicides come in gel, jellys, and foams, all of which are over the counter. Diaphragms and cervical caps are another risk, as is the sponge (Today Sponge is a particular brand, which also uses a spermicide). Diaphragms and cervical caps must be purchased from a doctor, as it have to be fit to your cervix. Abstinence, of course, is the best option surrounded by preventing pregnancy. More extreme methods requiring surgery include tubal ligation, hysterectomy, and vasectomy (male).

I see several people have said Nuva Ring, Mirena, etc. These are not past the worst for you, either, as they still carry the risk of blood clots due to the use of hormones within their products. Any hormone-based birth control will not be compatible with your illness.

Hope this help you explore your options! Best of luck..
there are a great heaps, why didn't you ask your doctor this when he/she told you the pill wasn't safe? suggest that is your best plan of management, because the doctor can tell you about the a range of form he/she can provide AND if you choose a few of the ones mentioned, can measure you for them right then and in attendance. im not sure as many things have synthetic hormones surrounded by them,i have a lot of promlems next to the normall pill.,could you try the mini pill?contains one hormone so less side effects.or iud?they usually suggest that after childbirth though, implant?depo shot? the patch?
i suggest you write these down and ask your doctor,if you havent allready i suggest you consult to the family planning/planned parent hood clinic,as they are usually alot more helpfull than doctors and know slightly more about contraception etc.
