I be reading roughly the pill, is this true? ?

I was reading a BBC article and there's a quote from the organisation called Life that said this:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/884364...
<A spokesman for the pro-family charity Life suggested the pill be responsible for a rise in sexually transmitted diseases.
"The pill is not a contraceptive. It causes precipitate abortion and women are being conned about what they are doing to their body<<

I be wondering if it's true that the pill causes early abortion? I thought it prevented an egg mortal released, so how can it cause early abortion? If their relatively is untrue, it seems irresponsible for them to say it.

Answers:    Firstly STIs be rife way before the pill be invented. Secondly it works mainly by inhibiting ovulation, however it also produces cervical mucous hostility, preventing implantation..
You're really right that birth control pills prevent an egg from being releases. Without an egg to be fertilized, there can't be a pregnancy. And minus a pregnancy, there can't be an abortion. However, there's something called the "morning after" pill, which is used after somebody have had sex WITHOUT contraceptive protection. Here's some information about the morning-after pill.

The helpful ingredients in morning-after pills are similar to those in birth control pills, except surrounded by higher doses. Some morning-after pills contain only one hormone, levonorgestrel (Plan B), and others contain two, progestin and estrogen. Progestin prevents the sperm from reaching the egg and keep a fertilized egg from attaching to the wall of the uterus (implantation). Estrogen stops the ovaries from releasing eggs (ovulation) that can be fertilized by sperm.

In any case, the statement that "the pill is not a contraceptive" is a blatant lie and if I be you, I wouldn't pay too much attention to fanatics..
Its not true. to be exact just a quote from the woman representing a pro-life group that the newspaper is reporting on. she may be motto this because the pill usually prevents the egg from being released but if the egg is released and fertilized, it prevents it from implanting and some culture consider this an abortion. Its a very extreme position to take, but its the spokesperson's feelings.

The newspaper isn't saying this is true, its reporting someone's story, and it quotes the soul, thereby indicating to us, the audience that it is something someone said and not necessarily fact.

.
Oral contraceptives do not always prevent ovulation and fertilization. If an egg is fertilized, it usually cannot insert because the endometrium (uterine lining) is very thin and not hospitable. In those cases, hasty spontaneous abortion does occur.

Having said that, though...taking the pill responsibly and correctly will prevent ovulation almost 100% of the time. And condoms should always be used because you don't know who the other personality has been near. The only other option is self-denial - the smartest choice by far for those who are not married and don't want to have kids. .
The pill encourages immorality- thus the spread of disease. People cogitate they're safe frome verything, just because they;re locked from pregnancy.

Yes the pill causes eggs NOT to be released- but in the event that you do catch pregnant, it can keep the egg from attaching (mostly this is only true beside IUD's though).
well im not a dr. or anything but i know many associates who have gotten prg. while taking birth control pills, so that goes to voice that it doesnt always keep your body from releasing eggs. further more i own HEARD that if you do conceive while on birth control it CAN cause a miscarriage. so not totaly sure but i think it is a possibility to abord. I presume they mean the morning after pill
