I had a baby 4 months ago and have an IUD put in about a month ago. I hold a paraguard one though not a mirena. I have not had any filling bleeding or my period (but I am nursing). I would call your doctor and double check near them that the bleeding you are experiencing is normal. Like you said, it could just be your term and often times your first few postpartum periods can be heavier.

i purely got mine on Thursday.and I'm not bleeding at all today, but i did Thursday and Friday. but my doctor did tip off me that its possible that i could. you should be fine. if you are really worried just call and ask your doc.
but what mine said be that it is likely to bleed after it is first placed. so I'm actually shocked that the converse has happened.
