I have a friend whos 13 and the inner lips of her vagina are exceedingly uneven... one is normal-looking but the other side is darker colered, longer and even slightly wrinkly! she also have discharge quite often... even when she isn't on or to hand her period. the discharge is slightly stinky and and is whitish-clear. it doesn't disrupt ehr health but she NEEDS to know if she desires to tell her doctor... please give proffessional answers!

The askew, discolored, slightly wrinkly labia on one side is normal. I'm the same road. No doctor has said anything was wrong.

Once a girl starts puberty a white and/or clear, non-foul smelling discharge (mucous) is normal. The vagina is self-cleaning.

You will also hold your own 'scent' (musky) and it will smell stronger to you than to others.

This same discharge increases the closer you get to ovulation and when you are sexually aroused. Trust me, you don't ever want it to go away.

Different Types of Discharge:

White: Thick, white discharge is adjectives at the beginning and end of your cycle. Normal white discharge is not accompany by itching. If itching is present, thick white discharge can indicate a yeast infection.

Clear and stretchy: This is "fertile" mucous and means you are ovulating.

Clear and liquid: This occurs at different times of your cycle and can be particularly indigestible after exercising.

Yellow or Green: May indicate an infection, especially if thick or clumpy like cottage cheese or have a foul odor.

Brown: May happen right after periods, and is basically "cleaning out" your vagina. Old blood looks brown.

I don't even want to know how you know what your 13 yo friend's labia look similar to.

Anyway, it certainly sounds like she could own a yeast infection and should contact her doctor at once. If this is the case, I'm sure she probably did nothing wrong to seize a yeast infection. They happen to millions of women.

Its no biggie if its caught and treated. They have in the future treatments now.

(I would ignore the labia issue. Every woman's labia is different. If she is really concerned, she should discuss it near her doctor. Don't be embarrassed--that's what they are there for!)
