I just got on the nuvaring. I have been on it for three weeks, and now my doctor wants to do a hpv test. why?

I purely give birth 2 months ago and I haven't have any pap audition or anything because i be on my length at my six week stop by. So I didn't catch examined b4 i get on the birth control. Could that be the grounds. but y would he want me to hold a colspolcopy. and not a pap test
