preferably the pill but it also depends on the man's (and woman's in the other case) sex history. If they own be promiscuous, I'd fairly use condoms for a while and afterwards after trialling neg. after one year for HIV, we might consider not using them. If his history is okay afterwards the pill.

the pill with the sole purpose protects against pregnancy and have a sophisticated rate of worth but doesnt protect in the region of anything else. A condom protects the STDs and Yeast infections from spreading.
