when/why would they give you one? does it hurt?

Colposcopy is visualization of inside of vagina. It could be done for any root, like examining for carbuncle, foreign body, tumour, taking biopsy etc. If you are relaxed and cooperative it should not hurt. You may ask for a sedation or anaesthesia, though really it is not needed. Good luck, if you are going to enjoy one!

Usually one is done when your PAP smear shows up something funny or unusual, like dysplagic cell. It can hurt but only for a few moments. (Kind of close to when you get your ears pierced.) The boom or click of the instrument used during it is worse than the actual pain. Hoped that help =)

You receive one when you have an peculiar pap smear to a grade that could become cancerous. Ive have one, and yeah it hurts...take tylenol beforehand. but that didnt really assistance me. But dont worry, its not THAT bleak. :) you'll be fine.

It didn't hurt me, this coming from someone who be nervous going on for the WHOLE thing and hate pain. It be just more discomfited then anything. Don't verbs about it. Next I hold to have a cone biopsy done and im soooo jittery about that!!

They tender them when you get extraordinary pap test results. Since it's a biopsy it's not the funest point I have have done lol. I was a bit sore the daytime it was done.
