Which birth control pills can I take beside Lexapro?

I've been taking Lexapro (10 mg) for depression for in the order of a year. I'm doing well, but I plan to stay on this dose for at tiniest a couple months longer. I'd like to start taking birth control pills, preferably a low-dose pill (Loestrin or Yasmin). I've hear the low-dose pills have smaller number side effects than the others. Can I take bc pills and anti-depressants, or will Lexapro lower the value of the bc (or vice-versa)? Is there a unusual brand or type of bc pills that are better to take alongside anti-depressants than others?

Pregnant..?

I took Lexapro 10mg and Yasmin for several months and did lately fine. I talked to my physician more or less the Lexapro and my gyno about the Yasmin and they both said that they would be fine together.

Never hornywhat's the business deal?

I have have success next to Lexapro and Yasmin. Yasmin is the only BCP I could ever tolerate.

P.S. I use the BCP to regulate things, not for birth control. I'm in no trouble of getting pregnant, so I don't know if the Lexapro weakens the Yasmin. Ask a doc or pharmacist to be sure.

Ummm dont read if you are not developed?

hello.

im on lexapro 10mg as well, and i did some research for my studies contained by med school and i enjoy never come across anything that said taking any type of birth control is bad next to lexapro. I was on low dose ortho tri cyclen previously i started on ortho evra and it never worked well for me because i wasn't getting satisfactory hormones. You may need to try a few different kind on and off past you find the one thats right for you. I hope this helped! Make sure you nickname the doctor or a pharmacy if you're ever unsure about taking any type of medication beside Lexapro, they're usually very functional!
