For the past three months my period have be way lighter than usual & haven't last more than 3 days. Why?

I am menstruating today and it's much lighter than it has ever be before and within's also some clots present. I have be on new medication (Valium) for a few months and it so happen that my periods own been lighter since I started the Valium and own lasted a shorter duration. Could this hold something to do with it? I'm a clean weight & within good overall condition. I'm not taking birth control.
