You may be experiencing mittleschmerz. Esp if you also enjoy some pain next to ovulation. Some bleeding can occur too because of change in hormone level associated with ovulation. This could be the "brown" you mention. Talk near your dr.
Probably simply old menstrual blood, but other good to check it out beside your doctor.
