Can you estimate the cost of a follicule stimulating hormone trial?
My doctor will only enunciate "it's expensive". I need to be financially prepared until that time I schedule the exam. My insurance will pay 80%- do you hold any idea what my share might be? I'm not looking for an exact quote- only just an estimate. Thanks!

Since test rise and fall from facility to facility to hospital to hospital my best suggest is to first see where he wishes you to go and next call them. They can in fact give you any the exact price or close to. BUT PLEASE REMEMBER....do not pay anything until your insurance have paid it's part of a set. So many decline into to this trap and pay more than they own too. Wait until your EOB comes from your insurance company after the test is preformed and see what THEY DEEM IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.
Every area/clinic/doctor is going to vary but when I was going to the reproductive endocrinologist, I believe the FSH testing was solely around $100-150 (total). The expensive tests are the genetic test, etc. If you're talking in the order of a simple FSH level, it's really not that expensive. The doc. or clinic should know how to tell you what they charge!
