I hold several swollen lymph nodes currently and I don't know what to do?

I went to the doctor concluding week who put me on 10 days of Keflex for whatever bacterial infection I have to heal up (because she believed that the swollen lymph nodes contained by my groin were due to that -- most promising from shaving.) It has be one week and they are no longer painful, but still swollen. I enjoy never had a problem beside this before so I am upset that something is wrong. How long does it take for swollen lymph nodes to jump down, usually? And is it likely that I hold something else?

FYI -- I had sex six months ago next to a man who said he's clean, we wore a condom almost the entire time. Should I be worried in the order of HIV as well?

I am getting tested ASAP.

Unless you broke the skin while shaving and some form of virus or bacteria get in, it is unlikely that an infection would result from shaving. Lymph nodes can swell as a inborn defense against an infection, but there are other cause for swollen lymph nodes, too. Some STD's can produce swollen lymph nodes, such as syphilis, which can be treated effectively with penicillin. Depending on the severity of the infection, the time for lymph nodes to return to average size will vary. Several years ago, I have an upper respiratory infection with a unpromising sore throat, but it wasn't strep. When I felt better, I notice a swollen area contained by my neck. After numerous test involving my thyroid, an Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor did a throat scope and diagnosed me near a swollen lymph nodes. He said sometimes a lymph node will "not get the memo" that you are better and will remain swollen. Nothing can be done for it, though. About 2 weeks then, I came down next to strep throat and had plenty of swollen lymph nodes. When I feel better, the lump in my throat be gone. Any time you have unprotected sex near is a risk of STDs. Being tested for HIV wouldn't be a bad perception, just to be sure.
