Brown discharge?

I am a single father and I have a 10 years antediluvian daughter and one day she will return with into puberty. I was educating myself on internet more or less girls in puberty, so she could ask me just about her body, cause she lost a mother. and I will be in attendance for her.
I read a lot but I still dont recognize what they mean beside something about brown discharge. can anyone edify me? what is this? I think they said brown.
