Yes - some african countries have be known to do it (female circumcision). It's to some extent gruesome but from what I understand they cut bad the clitoris because they believe a woman shouldn't have gratification during sex only the man, and then if I'm not mistaken they sew up the vagina. There was an article almost an African woman who was discovered and brought to the US who in a minute models and she told about her experience one circumcized. What I remember most from the article was her proverb she has really discouraging pain for 3 days a month when it's time to hold her period so discouraging that she has to lock herself contained by a dark room because of the headache and lower body strain that's so excruciating. I can't remember her name but it be in a woman's magazine roughly 8 years ago and that was what really get me when I thought about how much misery every other woman thinks they enjoy during their period its nought compared to hers.
