Here's my best answer...I did not shave for about a week and a partly and used a self waxing paraphernalia. The brand name be Sally Hansen and they were the wax strips that thaw out up in your hand. The box says that they work on short pelt. I think if you travel to a salon, they recommend longer hair growth to work. If you can bar the pain, do it yourself!
