The protective cartridge strip on my mother's surgical strip came past its sell-by date. What do I do?

She was discharged from the hospital next to no intstructions. I was shifting her bandages after a full hip replacement and the cartridge strip came rotten. They sent no supplies. Will it be ok or do I need to acquire another?

If you are referring to the product called "Steri-strips" the usual intention is that they go down off on their own and that's ok. You don't update us how long it's been since her surgery. A hip replacement blotch will probably be healed within 2 weeks post-op. If there's no escape, you don't really need a heating pad. I had hip replacement and have a home care nurse who come to the house about 4 times during a 2-wk term. She put steri-strips on the day she took out the staples. They stayed nearby til they fell off.
Did your mom hold a home nurse? If so, she'd be a good one to ask. My home nurse also brought a couple of replacement dressings and my husband changed it once. If you're not sure and nearby's no home nurse coming to the house, then simply call the ortho surgeon's bureau and ask what to do.

If your mom be sent home without instructions later I advise you telephone her doctor immediatley for instructions. I wouldnt take any risks. The risk of infection is soaring enough minus a licensed physician instructing you on what you shoud do.

First of all hope your mom get better, and now just about that tape strip, economically you should call her doctor or the hospital she be in and ask going on for the tape strip and if you have need of another one; or you can go to any pharmacy and run to the section where on earth they sell medicine and ask for tape strip and how to put them on (I bet they enjoy those)
