What is the best non hormonal birth control (pill)?

First, i already know just "dont hold sex", but that is not the answer that i am looking for. I am human, and sex is as raw as anything else. Second, I already heard of a book give or take a few "how you plan your fertitlity", I am also not interested in that. I'm simply just wondering what "your" pill of choice is and one that have not made you experience up and downs emotionally, and no sex drive. I have taken the patch which i surely loved, until about every tuesday after i have applied the patch, i would have horrible attacks,such as: vomitting,nausea,hot flash,red, and this adjectives would last for just about 10 mins then i would be fine. I enjoy also taken Yasmin, which i was on it for a year. I lost my sex drive, and i become a moody **, to put into better words. So help me out, and dispense me some good answers. appreciation!

sorry to read out but it sounds like you are approaching me i cant be on any hormones or i will have no sex drive fatigue and incredibly moody. try an IUD they don't have to hold hormones and still 99% effective

I took the pill for about 17 yrs, and never really have any problems (minor weight gain of in the order of 5 lbs when I first started it). I tried the patch but on the first week of the third month I found what looked like a couple "zits" when I pulled the patch off--turns out I be allergic to the adhesive!

So my Dr suggested the Nuva Ring. You insert the flexible clear plastic ring for 3 wks, later take it out for a wk (which is when you receive your period).

I like it, because I don't enjoy to remember to take it (like the pills) every light of day, or change it every wk (like the patch). And when you draw from your first refill respectively year, you get what I refer to as an "egg timer"--a little clock/timer/electronic hourglass gizmo that I leave your job in the bathroom that beep on the day you stipulation to take the ring out, and again on the afternoon you put a new one surrounded by!

The Dr explained that there is certainly a lower "amount" of hormones going into your body w/the ring, since it is in contact w/your body internally, than with the pill or patch, which own to be "absorbed." So if the hormones are cause your lower sex drive, maybe the lower amount contained by the Ring will help.

Also--your partner should not be capable of feel the ring during intercourse, but if he can, it can be removed for up to 3 hrs safely--just don't leak asleep before you put it rear legs in! (I once have a partner find mine while he was "playing"--he pulled it out w/his finger, and looked really puzzled--he held it up & asked what it be! I just laugh & then told him (thru more fits of giggles) that it be my BC! lol)

I will not personally try the Depo shots, as I enjoy been told by too copious people that they gain A LOT of weight from them, and I also do not want to stop have a period altogether--I approaching to have the confirmation every month that I am not pregnant. (Plus, I don't know how on top form it is to suppress your periods for a long extent of time, even though the Dr says it is out of danger.) Also, if you have a recoil to the Depo, it will take 3 months for it to go off your system. (Imagine having to explain that sort or impetuous to everyone for 3 months! lol) And if you want to get pregnant after that, my Dr told me it can take nearly a year and a partly, possibly even 2 yrs, to be able to conceive after Depo. (The Dr said 3-4 months after the pill, and 1-2 months after the Nuva Ring)

As for bi*iness or moodiness...the pills really help w/my PMS after a couple months, and the patch & Nuva Ring also keep me on a wonderful "even keel." (although I be on the Tri-phasil pills (Ortho Tri Cyclen), and not the Yasmin pills...)
