What is wrong near my post-oophorectomy body?

I am 23, and I had an oophorectomy (my ovary removed) in the region of a month ago because of a 15cm ovarian cyst. I only have one ovary from birth so this procedure caused surgical menopause. (I still own my uterus.) Even though I am currently on Hormone Therapy (Vivelle dot 0.1mg 2x/week estrogen patches singular for now), I am experiencing strange menopausal side effects like hot flashes, mood swings, and prolonged vaginal bleeding (10 days). I thought the estrogen would cut down some of these menopausal issues, and that I would just get my "period" when I bear Prometrium 200mg #24 for 1-12 days every 1-3 months. I feel alone contained by this situation. Most people who hold had an oophorectomy also have a hyst. Being so young, I am confused and can use some answers and support. Please respond if you hold any answers or support...

Which doctor do I need to see?

Hey, girl. I consistency your pain. I have a hyst and oophorectomy at 30. While my situation was somewhat different than yours, I still have duplicate symptoms you described.

It's unfortunate that near isn't more support for people close to us. We're too young to fit into the "after-50" crowd, so at hand's really no support for us, that I've been competent to find.

What I will say, though, is that a drug call Estratest has worked wonders for me. Because of the side effects, however, my doctor made me sign a release in the past he would prescribe more for me. Hormone Replacement Therapy has be thought to cause heart disease surrounded by women. As a result, my doctor, even though I signed the release, would only prescribe the medication at partially the dose. :( So, I'm right back where on earth I started, although a bit more comfortable.

Hope this helps.
