I dont want surgery but I own a 5cm ovarian simple cyst, any alternatives for it?

I have a 5cm simple cyst on my ovaries and it cause sharp pains from time to time. It has cause me to have 2 period in 1 month and bleed heavily. MY Dr put me on birth control, does this shrink it or will it dissolve? What happen if it ruptures, do I just bring a bunch of Advil and call my Dr the subsequent morning? Anyone have this past?

I know of someone who had a simple cyst (I assume you are discussion about a fluid occupied type cyst) which ruptured. It was deeply painful and she be hospitalised but afterwards was okay again short surgery or other effects. The birth control may see the cyst reduce itself intrinsically although I would be worried about the pains you are getting. If it ruptures it is deeply painful. I enjoy had a dermoid cyst rupture and it be extremely painful. No amount of advil did a piece to reduce the distress.
