It shouldn't... the IUD is in fact placed in the uterus, not the vagina. And, nearby shouldn't be any dried blood. You should continue to own your periods next to the IUD.
If you're experiencing ANY odors or period change, you need to see your doctor ASAP. Having an IUD does receive you more prone to infections, and they can be more serious.
