Women who are planning on starting a family stipulation to be aware of a parasite called toxoplasma gondii, which can end in an infection call Toxoplasmosis within humans. Cats are one of the animals that can carry and spread this parasite to humans through infectious cysts shed in their stool. Toxoplasmosis will across the world cause mild flu-like symptoms contained by humans that goes away after a few days, but it can be unbelievably harmful to fetuses within teh first trimester of pregnancy.
Although this scares oodles people, Toxoplasmosis is simply infectious under extremely finicky circumstances that almost never coexist. A cat has to own had a recent infection, it have to be shedding the cysts which have to exist surrounded by stool in the litter box for more than 24 hours, a woman requests to get the stool contained by their mouth or eye, and she has to be within her first trimester. Cats shed toxoplasma cysts in their feces three to ten days after ingestion infected tissues from another animal; so your cat would have have to hunt and eat an infected mouse or other creature efficient to be infected himself. The only track an indoor cat woudl be infected is if you have rodents within your house that it hunts, or if he is on a raw food diet (the parasite is transmissible to both cats and humans who consume untouched meat). Statistics show you are more likely to contract Toxoplasmosis from handling crude meat or gardening in infected soil.
Doctors suggest letting someone else scoop the litter for you during your first trimester. If that's unworkable, they advise wearing gloves, using litter box liner, and changing the entire box every 24 hours. Still, you'd enjoy to get the cyst that get onto your hand into your mouth or eyes, and that can be avoided by wash your hands when you're done cleaning the litter box.
Since heaps people do not even realize that they own had Toxoplasmosis, you should own your doctor or midwife do a blood test for evidence of long-gone infection before you receive pregnant or as early surrounded by pregnancy as possible. If the test is positive, you enjoy already had the infection and do not involve to worry almost passing a different infection to your baby. If the experiment is negative, you should cart the precautions above, wear latex gloves when you handle rare meat, wear gardening gloves while doing yardwork, and wash your hand thoroughly after these activities.

when you are pregnant, please do not come implicit to cat. Cat sometimes have taxonomy. It is dicey for pregnant woman. ThanksNo it does not. My sister-in-law have two cats and two beautiful children.
Just don't verbs the litter box while pregnant! If you do wear rubber gloves there is a toxin in the feces you don't want to receive!
It should not affect fertility, however when my ex-wife be pregnant with our daughter, we be warned to avoid cats. Specifically, my ex-wife be to avoid cats. Apparently there is some virus carried surrounded by cats. When they use the litter box, they expose their claws to this virus. If one subsequently scratches a pregnant woman at hand is a possibility that the virus can trigger a miscarriage. You shouldn't live in suspicion, but you should expose yourself (or your unborn child) to an unnecessary danger.
My mother be pregnant with me and she have a cat since way formerly she even got pregnant. I come out perfectly fine, I grew up to love the cat. Hell the cat be even a year older than I be. Its all nearly how clean you keep hold of your house with your cat surrounded by it. Bathe your cat, dont let cat pelt stay all over the furniture and floor. Brush the cat regularly to get the loose curls off of it and you should be fine. As long as you dont hold an allergy to cats....then I dont see a problem really. Talk to your doctor just about it and see what they say. Hope I could lend a hand.
