To "skip" a period near birth control, you need to be using it for at tiniest 3 months first otherwise you will most likely hold breakthrough bleeding. So if your vacation is 4 months away or so, you might consider this but I give attention to you just might hold to tough it out.

Like Toast said - with the sole purpose way is next to the birth control pill. And even then you enjoy to take it incorrectly and overdose yoour hormones. The length after your missed one would be the most heavy and throbbing of your life.
