I have been having sharp pain in my side?

this happens almost other around my period. is this approaching cramps? thanks

This sounds like ovulation (the two weeks up to that time your period) pain. It can be terribly sharp when it occurs.

I would recommend checking beside your dr though to be on the safe side.

It could be ovulation pain or menstruation dull pain but it could be something more severe go to a doctor only just to be safe. With adjectives that's out there presently better safe after sorry.
