Can i just voice that what you have mentioned within your question is positively normal, but it is a complete myth that you start your interval after a first year of the discharge starting. Everybody starts at different rates.. therefore it isn't set and your body doesn't own a 'timer' telling you that you will start your length after the first year of discharge starting.
