I visited the doctors the other day in the region of my knee and after sorting that out he looked at my age and said you must be menopausal now, and he offerd me HRT. I decline the offer as i dont feel surrounded by any distress or anything, but i was shocked that this stuff is offered as the norm. I am not anti HRT, but i really dont want to be taking anything that would interfer with nature own way. Am i right? My friend thinks is great stuff, but i am not convinced.

I enjoy to say in recent years I enjoy never offered HRT to anyone who was not enquiring about it. 20 years ago masses women came in every month near a request. In latter years I wold see no more than 2 or 3 a year. When they do present, we always have a long, reasoned discussion nearly the pros and cons, and I would consider each case individually earlier giving my opinion as to whether it is an option.

When I be 26 I had a hysterectomy then at the age of 36 I have both ovaries removed, and it was then that I be put on to HRT. I do not have "Hot flushes' or any other symptoms and I to, asked the Doctor if I could come of it - as I have hear lots of negative things about it. I enjoy been naughty at times and not taken it beside the result that I become agitated and a bit grumpy and start snapping at my hubby! The Doctor advised me that women usually need to cart it until the age of about 54-55. I am 48 now. If I didn't enjoy to have it I certainly would not be taking it, but that's my own personal display as I hate taking any medication.

I am 49 and had a hysterectomy 8 years ago. Recently a moment ago before an operation I was given HRT to 'keep the tissues plump and tough to promote quicker healing'. I said I didn't think I'd even reached the menopause nonetheless, but I was given it anyway, and even after the operation I was recommended to maintain taking it! Like you, I didn't fancy the idea and I have stopped of my own harmony. I've never been convinced that the benefits outweigh the risks. And it certainly didn't do anything to augment my wrinkles!

I agree I'm 49 and I wouldnt take it either unless I be really having a bad time, I contemplate too many hormones cant be good for you, they seem to be to think pumping you full of this stuff is a good piece, but I've never heard anyone have it in need side effects...

Don't be pushed into it ! Take some time to weigh up all the pros and cons.
HRT is sometimes given out / offered like smarties!
Look at adjectives the side effects and increased risk of breast cancer before you decide.
