What is a pap. and how is it done?

Answers:    Pap smear is a test that is done to check for abnormal cells on your cervix. It usually done after one becomes sexually active. It is used to check for precancerous or cancerous cells and other diseases. A doctor uses a speculum, a metal device that is inserted in your vagina and opens your vaginal walls, and scrapes cells off your cervix with a long cotton swab. It only takes a short time and is rather uncomfortable. .
