Want to have a tummy tuck do to major stomache sagging after having 2 large babies. Can insurance pay for that?
Answers: Be carefull. My sisters friend went to N.Y. to have a tummy tuck and died two weeks later!.
Typically Insurance Company wont pay for it. They consider Tummy Tuck a cosmetic procedure. However my sister was able to negotiate some sort a deal. So she paid only $5000 out off her pocket. The rest been paid by Insurance. But it required a lot of paper work and a lot of phone conversations. Basically several of her doctors made statements in these paperwork that she needs this procedure because it will lead to hernia or something...
.
Some insurance companies will pay for that so long as the sagging skin is causing you problems such as rashes or in-grown abdominal hairs (you know...those little blond ones that you can't really see). The trick is getting in with a doctor who is nice enough to be on your side about it. It's kind of an arduous process for them regarding the amount of paperwork and documentation they have to submit to your insurance company such as repeated office visits for the same issue (like rashes that won't heal) and pictures of the affected area. My advice...it'd probably be quicker and easier to try and scratch together a few grand for a down payment and then make payments on the rest. Your credit has to be good to qualify for financing for elective plastic surgery, though. Good luck. It's usually considered cosmetic unless you doctor can write a convincing account that it isn't. You need to check with your insurance provider and your individual plan. Every plan and insurance is different..
It is gonna take a while to find the answer for your question on internet.I provide a related and good resource here for your reference.
http://insurance.freetipz.info/insurance... they can, but they won't...very few insurance plans cover cosmetic surgery...and a tummy tuck is cosmetic, not medically necessary.
