I have a exceedingly heavy menstrual flow and because of it I am always ruining my underwear. I wear pad, should I switch to tampons?

Also why is it so heavy, someone told me because I am thin (5'9", 126 lbs.), is that true?

Hi, I enjoy the same problem and have other had it since I started to menstrate at the age of 16. Everyone told me that it would get better after I have babies well now I enjoy had two and I'm even worse.

I use the most absorbent tampons I can use (ie super maxi or whatever) and transmutation every couple of hours. I also use a pad as well (just a shrunken one) in the first couple of days because I got sick of ruining my underwear.

I am also elevated but I don't think it has get anything to do with menstrual flow - it is just the track your body works. My mother has the same problem and she is slightly short.

try using a tampon and then use a pad also, you may want to try Super plus tampons basically know that you have a possibilty to get TSS so if you do net sure you chage your tampom fequently. TSS is found more often in woman who wear super/super plus tampons.You could aslo have a word to your doctor about birth control it can slow down your cycle and make it more steady, also the 2nd time of your period is always the heaviest. Depending on age this may be a temp entry. When i started at 12 my flow was very indigestible now at 19 i have my interval about 3 days and it is very flimsy. if you are truely worried go to the DR.

You should see your doctor asap. Heavy menses are normal but if you are going through pad at a rate of 1 every 1-2 hours there is something wrong. You may need to be in motion on birth control to try and regulate the flow. But I would start with seeing your doctor.
