Pill and lighter period?

I went on the pill as I had unbelievably heavy and extremely painful period that often included vomiting the first my of menstruation.
I have immediately been on it 5 months, and I have notice more isolated incidents of cramping during my period (nothing as bad as it used to be but still problematic) also nearby has been little metamorphose at all in my flow. I'm so utterly frustrated, as I thought perchance after 5 months the pill would be more effective on my periods, should I try another brand? opinion would be greatly appreciated. ):

Answers:    If it's been 5 months and you're still suffering, then yes it is indubitably time to see your doctor and request a change. It is never guaranteed that the first prescription/formulation you try is going to work. It took me nearly 2 dozen different types before I found one that help me and had minimal side effects.

So call your doc; they may not even want to in fact see you, but will change your prescription over the phone with of late a verbal consult.

.
Microgynon may cause prolonged bleeding during menstruation, as one of it's side effects. My suggestion is to procure your doctor to put you on another med.

One woman I know went from Microgynon to Cilest, and did better on that medication. I've heard that Tranexamic sharp (Cyklokapron) is also a better choice for heavy menstrual bleeding.

Also, talk to your OBGYN give or take a few endometrial ablation, or possible Dilation and curettage (D&C), or the most drastic would be a hysterectomy to stop it altogether if no medication works for you.

EDIT: Intra-uterine device (IUD) may also help with substantial periods as an alternative to the procedures above.
