my mum is very worried as she has be going through menopause for nearly 2 years now and had not have a period for 18 months, then suddenly today she have got one after all this time,i be wondering if this is normal and if any other older females on here own known this or had it themselves.she have had alt of stress this year so i think it may be in recent times that maybe that caused it.
thankfulness

Answers:    I would say this sounds pretty normal. Last year when my mom be starting menopause, she would go a long time without have a period and then she would hold heavy bleeding for a couple days. She said her doctor told her that it was pretty conventional when you start to go through menopause because it takes your body some time to adjust fully. If she is really worried, she should unambiguously go to her OB/GYN. .
I suggest she see the Doctor asap. She has gone a long time short one,it isn't always normal to jump that long, then have a interval, even though it does happen.
The Dr will want to rule out any other problems, just to be sure it is only a period.

Ankonkiah is correct(didn't want to scare you).

She can take it checked to rule out problems. A woman is menopausal after her periods have stopped for one year. Menopause typically occur in a woman's late forties to precipitate fifties. It is a normal part of aging, mark the end of a woman's reproductive years.More information and remedies at http://useinfo4.blogspot.com/

Yes, that is mundane, she can have it suddenly, then again zilch for a long time, it can happen many time till it stops forever, dont verbs she may not be eating healthily due to "stress" as you put it so her body has not have the resources to produce a period, i think she should dance to the Doctor..... they know what they are talking about.
Any woman suffering from post-menopausal bleeding must enjoy a cancer check to exclude this serious condition.Should see her doctor soon. Yes very normal...her hormones are out of whack and it will evolve periodically..
Normal. Suggest she see a doctor if she's unsure about it, then you don't own to worry about her condition. :-) I would not worry all types of strange things develop at that time as long as she feels ok and it is not a big loss put it down to one of those things.
