this is going to be a stupid question, but i am very seriously considering trying out the mirena iud - beside the cord thing that comes out of the cervix, do you have to be considerate of that when have sex??

Mirena simply has the little strings there for your peace of mind! You use your fingers to simply quality it if you need to check that it's still in its proper position. Have sex close to normal. He won't know it's there unless you transmit him that it's there. You have nil to worry about.

You do for the first week or so, also that first week is for letting your body win used to the hormones that comes with the IUD. But be cautious because I hold heard more than one story about women getting pregnant next to an IUD. I have also heard cargo gain, and crazy mood swings follow that first week. Good luck!

Possible infection?

I had no mood swings or weight gain. The string is merely there to check after each length and make sure it's still there. I do believe the IUD is what cause me to miscarry twice. Just becareful and make sure you do your research.
