Is birth control effect by topical anitbotics?

I'm using Benzaclin on my chin right now becuase I got two big cysts on my chin. I be wondering since they say antibotics effect birth control, if I'll still be protected?

Answers:    You are just fine near your birth control. My derm had me on benzaclin and another topical and said I was purely fine to be on the pill. When he put me on an oral antibiotic as well, he then told me I needed to find an alternative method of birth control. And purely a note about the answer below, in fact a drug called Minocyclin does affect the efficiency of the pill, depending on the dosage. Minocyclin is prescribed for cystic acne, and my OBGYN took me bad the pill because of that medication. Both my OB and my Derm agree that there are conflicting studies out there, and that it is better to be safe and sound than sorry. Both, however, were not concerned at all next to Benzaclin causing a problem with birth control..
Most antibiotics own no effect on birth control. Only some very strong, very specific antibiotics may own some effect on b/c and they would not be something you were prescribed for common things similar to infections or cysts. So , NO, your antibiotics will not have an effect on your b/c. And if you get other answerers recitation you otherwise, then ask the doctor and they'll tell you only just what I said.
