Colposcopy findings...relieve!?

I have HPV that makes my pap smears unexpected for several years. I have been going twice once a year for a long time, and for the most part the results have be LSIL. For the past two times that I went it have gotten better and has been ASC-US. My Dr. looked-for me to have a colposcopy just to craft sure, and when he did one he wanted to do a biopsy because of some cells he saw. He said to him it looked resembling it could be cells that my body is trying to make "normal" again, or High Grade Lesions! I kinda freaked out b/c he said if it is High Grade I will enjoy to have a LEEP procedure. I asked him what he thought it was and he said he's see it go both ways...it could be my body getting rid of it, or the High Grade. Has anyone ever had this experience? I want to deliberate that if the last two Pap smears came final closer to normal than before that it would be my body getting rid of the entry, but i'm so scared that it could be High Grade and I'll have to go and get a LEEP. Has anyone had one?

Your doctor cannot tell just by looking through the colposcope whether or not the lesion are high grade - that's why he took the biopsies.

However, once you hold HPV, you have it forever - your body cannot "get rid of it". He may own just been trying to bring in you feel better by saying that. HPV is a virus, and have no cure. The more likely scenario is that the HPV can go hindmost to lying dormant in your system. This could happen for months or even years, but it will other be there and could come back at any time.

If your biopsy results do come rear as high grade, the LEEP is a remarkably effective form of treatment. However, if you haven't had children on the other hand, I would recommend talking to him about other option, as the LEEP has been associated beside incompetent cervix during pregnancy. I would try to avoid the LEEP and especially a cone biopsy if you still plan to become pregnant. Ask him about doing cryosurgery, which is less invasive and does not produce any permanent damage or scarring to the cervix.

Hope this help!

UPDATE: Yes, I have had cryosurgery, and I'm also a nurse at an OB/GYN bureau. The cryo is a little painful while it's truly being done, then the distress increases as your cervix "thaws", but that only lasts nearly 15-20 minutes, then you'll feel fine. You should ask your doc for some anguish medicine to take previously he does the procedure, and make sure you have someone to drive you home. The worst member of the cryo is the watery, icky smelling discharge that you'll have for a week afterwards. However, within my opinion, these side effects are a lot better than a procedure that can for good damage your cervix and make it difficult for you to get a child.
