Can I pinch birth control pills while taking large blood pressure medication?

I'm 24 years old and currently taking Benicar HCT for my high blood pressure. I used to hold Estrostep Fe about 4 years ago, but switched to the Depo Provera shot because the Estrostep raised my blood pressure (I wasn't taking any bp meds then). I stopped taking the shot after a year of reception them because the side effects were unbearable. So, in a minute that I'm taking meds to control my bp, would my doctor think it's safe to start the pill again?

Answers:    Progesterone is a hormone that can affect blood pressure. The machinery by which this occurs is complicated, but involves both hormone cascades and direct effect on small blood vessel. Because of these effects, it is possible that taking birth control pills can cause your blood pressure to rise. This increase in blood pressure can variety from very mild to potentially serious, and may sometimes warrant discontinuing the birth control.

This is something to discuss with your treating physician..
Nope, I own yet to see a doctor that will prescribe bc to someone that has giant blood pressure, especially if you have to take meds to control it. BC raise blood pressure and if something was to happen to you the doctor could be held reliable. Ask the doctor. It may not be not dangerous, but only the doc can say..
You entail to talk to your doctor
