After starting the pill, how long after can you usually start having sex? In other words, when does the pill kick within? Lol.

I'm not on birth control at the moment. I just want to be prepared.

Birth control pills reach their maximum effectiveness during the second month of proper use. If you start taking BCPs, use a subsidise up method during your first month. Your doctor will tell you this if/when they are prescribed to you. You are still at risk for pregnancy until you have be on the Pill for at least a week. But the earlier you start taking them, the better..
