No, the only birth contorl that you can use while breastfeeding is the mini pill. SO if you hold an IUD do NOT breastfeed. Yes. It doesn't contain estrogen, so you can use it while breast feeding.

You could hold (and SHOULD have) asked your doctor this prior to or during the insertion process. Its still not too late to pick up that phone and ask your medical professional.
