I want your comfort, interrogate in the order of ca-125 blood tryout and ct scan.is my doctor jump the gun here?
They have found NO cysts, no tumors, zilch. I'm thinking it might be endometriosis. I know that endo can make those test come back elevated and I'm worried that by getting this test I'm going to freak myself out. I do not grain like within is a reason for my dr to be scare me like this. I really get the impression like he's jump the gun. CT scan and u/s showed everything was well brought-up.
Answers: You should ask for a serial CA-125 test. All that method is that you take multiple test over a period of time. A positive result obtain in this behaviour has a greater than 99%, fate of being ovarian cancer, which is hugely highly specific You're unquestionably correct that the CA-125 is not all that adjectives as an early detection method, but, frankly, since the test aren't all that invasive and your doctor is in actuality offering them... grab em. It's right to try and treat ovarian cancer early, and if you are cancer-free, powerfully, the results will ease your concern.
I'm not personally that identifiable with the CEA check, but between it and the CA-125 you'll get a perfect idea if you own any *advanced* sort of cancer. Your doc should certainly investigate other issues that may be cause your pain, including endometriosis.
Best of luck, and I hope your results are upright.
My first thought as I started reading it was within fact endo. Has your doctor even mentioned this? Unfortunately though for you, the with the sole purpose way to determine if you hold it is through a pelviscopy, which is way more invasive than a bloodtest or ct scan. But don't be afraid, it's not a prickly procedure at all. the issue here is you dont trust your doctor...have need of to go find another, or enjoy a sit down wiht him/her and tell them what you told us.
I know your fear. I enjoy had GYN problems since my untimely teens. It maybe endo. or pelvic inflammatory disease or even a urinary bladder problem such as interstitisl cystitis. IC is not exactly resembling a bladder infection or UTI. It involves inflammation of the urinary bladder and is painful. etc. If you are incoherent with your GYN find another and be sure he/she deal in lofty risk situations. Take all your documents with you or ask the current doctor to request them from your old doctor. The plea for the pain requirements to be found and treated.
