Dr.'s or nurses? Question nearly cervix thinning surrounded by pregnancy.?

I've been have contractions regularly, and I'm only 25 weeks pregnant. My doctor checked my cervix yesterday and said it feel really thin to her and she planned me for an ultrasound, she said to see how thick it be inside, as she could only see the outside. I be put on strict bedrest until we got results. I have the ultrasound today and the nurse said they can't check for thickness, lone length. The length was okay, but I'm confused give or take a few what the difference is. There's no dilation, but the doctor said my cervix was not gelatinous enough, but apparently it hasn't shortened. I'm calling my doctor today subsequently, but I usually only carry to talk to the nurse, not the doctor. The doc give me a prescription for Motrin to stop the contractions also. I'm still having them, but with the sole purpose one an hour, lying down, instead of 5 an hour.

Answers:    The important entity is that you are not dilating. That is the start of labor. Thinning is a function of the expansion of the uterus. As it stretches, it has no other leeway than to thin out. The certainty that it has not shortened process that it is holding together well. Good luck the rest of the method.
