Would the birth control pill be less effective on obese women

Answers:    Studies have found they are most effective for women under a certain weight. I will find the link for you.

"Scientists from the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Centre in Seattle found that overweight women were 60 per cent more likely to fall pregnant while taking the contraceptive pill than slimmer women. This figure rose to 70 per cent for obese women.".
Any woman who is over 250lbs may find that the birth control method isn't as effective - although there's evidence to suggest that there is no difference. What happens is that body fat can absorb some of the hormones, so they can be less effective. Ways to counteract it are to take higher dose pills (which carry more health risks), or lose some weight (which should probably happen anyway). You hit the nail on the head!
I used to be overweight and I found out the hard way that
ortho evra
depo provera
and the pills
do not work well on overweight women

I lost all of the weight but I decided not to take anymore chances and got my tubes tied.
I think so. A friend of mine is obese and her doctor will not put her on any kind of birth control unless she loses weight. The hormones in birth control can be stressful on a woman's heart and I'm sure carrying around extra weight doesn't help either. I would think so
