I'm 47, haven't had a period since Dec 1, pregnancy test last week was negative. Can menopause start so fast?

My period usually come every 24 days. It be behind time surrounded by Sept, on the dot within Oct, behind time within Nov (actually didn't start till Dec 1) and immediately it's close to 4 weeks belated.
