An IUD - newly like ANY other type of contraceptive - is NOT 100% impressive. However, since human error is taken out of the equation, it is less imagined that you will become pregnant through something YOU do (i.e., not use the method correctly).

That being said, it is inadvisable for a nulliparous woman (one who have never had a babe to term) to use an IUD.
