Is this conventional?

First of, it's not the cysts that cause coat growth and pimples, but it is excess androgen (male hormone) that causes BOTH tresses growth, pimples and cysts. So, only the certainty that you have hackle growth and skin problems does not mean that you own PCOS. However, if your androgen is high, you are more prone to PCOS. Your current problems might connote that your androgen is high. I am not from Australia, but you really don't stipulation the best doctor to get you tested for hormones. Just stir to regular GYN and request full hormonal test. The just way to know if you own cysts is if you have awfully painful ovulation and period, or one of your ovaries hurts for no reason. In this defence go to your GYN again and request ultrasound of ovaries. If you are worried of cysts so much, you can even have that ultrasound presently (just tell your doctor that you enjoy painful period and would like an ultrasound of ovaries, and she will refer you to it near no problem). It your blood test shows that you enjoy raised androgen, your doctor will probably recommend birth control pill. This regulates your hormones. After getting rotten the pill you will have much superior chances to grasp pregnant. And don't worry roughly speaking your fertility - only contained by most severe cases of PCOS women have difficult time to draw from pregnant. I am asuming you are not the case - since you didn't mention backache in your ovaries. To protect it from getting worse you will probably call for to be on the pill (birth control and/or androgen inhibitor) for a while.

Does anyone know much about PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome)?
