Hi there. I be dx'd with a particularly severe case of PMDD 4 years ago, after a horrid suitcase of PPD (postpartum depression). I was on masses antidepressants for the PPD, plus some antipsych meds as well as antianxiety meds. I be in treatment, too.

NONE of those meds helped me next to the PMDD, so it became even more of a difficult time.

Back contained by October I began taking Yaz birth control pill, strictly for the PMDD. It literally changed my life span. I was suicidal every month.

It is worth a shot for you, please homily to your gyn about it. I am no longer on any other meds except my Synthroid and an occasional Ativan (only during the PMDD phase).

Being that you are bipolar, the antidepressants will still be necessary. I do believe, though, that the Yaz will furnish you relief from the PMDD. Please, again, I urge you to speak to your doctor nearly the use of Yaz.

Here is an article about my personal experience beside PMDD...

And, here is some major info on the subject of PMDD...

Good luck, please let me know if this be enough info. As for trying St. John's Wort as the other personality suggested, don't do so. St. John's Wort will not take charge of PMDD, people who aren't used to with what PMDD really is don't know how severe this weakening condition is.

Can you enjoy sex lacking your cervix?

I can't answer you technically as I'm not a doctor, but I CAN tell you that I, intuitively, started taking St. John's Wort, and it works MIRACLES for me. I'm a NEW WOMAN because of it. :o)
