Melody 101 have the right answer. But what I'm concerned about is the copper IUD. It's no longer used surrounded by the U.S. due to the risk of tearing the uterus, trouble beside conceiving when removed & the metal.

When I was younger I have the copper IUD & had no problem except it taking months to conceive after have it removed. But when I wanted another after my second child be born I was told it be plastic because of the above reasons & that a few times a woman get pregnant while it was inside & the little one was born next to the IUD implanted in their go before requiring post natal surgery or causing a miscarriage.

Both times it be done at a Planned Parenthood Clinic. They told me because of the dangers that until an alternative have been found for the copper they hadn't be allowed to offer the opportunity of an IUD & still strongly discouraged it.

This was contained by the late 70s to hasty 80s. So I had to utter something when I saw you said a "copper" IUD. But maybe something have changed somehow. Please read the risks first. Also question the dr. just about what I said. Better safe than sorry.
