The outer surface of the cervix is normally covered beside flat, tough squamous cells, exactly similar to skin, but with no pigment. The inside of the cervix is furrowed by more fragile columnar calls, some of which are ' beaker cells ', which release lubricant mucous.

Quite commonly, for reasons hazy, the more fragile columnar cells grow down on to the outer surface. Here they may mete out pools of mucous that may become infected, also they are easily traumatised and may bleed on intercourse.

These erosions can restore to health and reform on their own, but usually if the nouns is cauterised the cells that regrow are the flat squamous type.

What should I do for my menstral problem?

Cervical erosion is a partial or complete absenteeism of the squamous epithelium of the cervix. The normal tissue on the surface of the cervix and/or around the os , is replaced by inflamed tissue from inside the cervical canal. This endocervical tissue is red and granular, so it give the cervix a red, eroded, and infected appearance.

Causes
Cervical erosion may be caused by trauma (through intercourse, tampon insertion, foreign objects in the vagina, or speculum insertion), or infection (herpes, impulsive syphilis, tampons that were not removed, severe vaginal infections), and sometimes chemicals (spermaticidal contraceptive creams or foams, douches).
